Dr Lachlan de Crespigny - MD BS FRCOG, FRANZCOG, DDU, COGU
Lachlan de Crespigny is an Obstetrician Gynaecologist who practices exclusively in ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. He is in private practice and is an Honorary Fellow of the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. He is past president of the Australasian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine. He has a long interest in research in his specialty and has published widely in Australia and International journals. He has published ‘Prenatal Testing. Making Choices in Pregnancy (Penguin), ‘Which Tests For My Unborn Baby’ (OUP) first published in 1991. His new book : ‘Prenatal Tests: The Facts’ (OUP) is published in 2005.
Dr Victor Hurley MBBS (Melb) FRANZCOG FRCOG DDU COGU
Victor Hurley is an Obstetrician Gynaecologist. He is also currently appointed at the Mercy Hospital for Women where he has been practicing since 1986. He has previously been Chairman of AAOGU (Australian Association of Obstetric and Gynaecological Ultrasonologists), Member of the Subspecialty Training Committee for Ultrasound RANZCOG, Chairman and Convenor VOS (Victorian Obstetric Sonologists) and Medical Counsellor ASUM (Australian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine).

Dr Nicole Woodrow - MB BS MRCOG, FRANZCOG, DDU, COGU, MBIOETH
Nicole has always been passionate about women’s health and women’s advocacy. She is committed to providing the highest standards in obstetrical and gynaecological ultrasound and respecting women’s choices in reproduction. Nicole completed her medical degree in 1989 from Melbourne University. After gaining some surgical experience in Sydney she became an obstetrician and gynaecologist; training primarily at Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne. She spent a senior registrar year in London, England at a major center for immigrant women affected by female genital mutilation before deciding to specialize in obstetrical and gynaecological ultrasound. Her two year joint training appointment with the Royal Women’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre gave her a breadth of experience in diagnosis and procedure. Nicole has also completed a Masters in Bioethics from Monash University.
Nicole’s publications and presentations at conferences have included: medicolegal aspects of ultrasound, antenatal diagnosis of neurological and orthopaedic abnormalities and ethical issues in obstetrics and gynaeclogy. Nicole performs extensive training and administrative honorary work in obstetrics and gynaecology. This includes:

Nicole works in private practice at both our Carlton and Hampton sites. She is also a consultant in the Fetal Diagnostic Unit at Monash Medical Centre (MMC). She is the primary investigator for the fetal MRI study being conducted at MMC. Nicole is the mother of two young children. She looks forward to caring for your ultrasound needs in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Dr Michael Bethune - MB BS FRANZCOG, DDU, COGU
Dr Bethune is a specialist obstetrician gynaecologist who has undergone further training in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound and holds the certificate of obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. In addition to working at Melbourne Ultrasound for Women he also has specialist appointments at the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Mercy Hospital for Women where he is involved in teaching ultrasound skills to specialist and sub-specialist obstetricians and gynaecologist. Dr Bethune has published papers in national and international medical journals and has presented a paper at the 13th World Congress in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Paris. As well as his expertise in obstetric and gynaecological imaging, in particular the diagnosis and evaluation of fetal abnormalities, Dr Bethune has a special interest in 3D ultrasound technologies.
Dr Bethune is a Committee Member of the Australian Association of Obstetrical and Gynaecological Ultrasonologists (AAOGU).
Counsellors
Meg Espie - B.App Sc. (Occupational Therapy), Counsellor
Meg Espie is a counsellor in prenatal diagnosis and works with women considering prenatal testing and those who receive ‘bad news’. She is a qualified occupational therapist who has been involved with counselling for most of her professional life. Meg trained with the Victorian Court Network and worked as a counsellor in the Coroner’s Court for five years, before undergoing training in prenatal diagnosis.
Meg is also the co-author of the book "Prenatal testing, Making choices in Pregnancy" (Penguin)
